Ian Curtis, vocalist with Joy Division, was found dead in Manchester Street on Sunday morning, May 18th, 1980. He was believed to have committed suicide. The band split up immediately. Joy Division were always alienating; never introduced songs; remained immobile and solemn on stage and never did encores. Their ominous presence was bleak and experimental. In short, they were one of the few bands capable of changing the face of music back in the day when indie really WAS indie and a grey trench coat was compulsory. On the Seetickets website Transmission are playing at the Duchess on Sat 3rd October, but on your site it's Sat 24th October. Which is it?
