Singer David Burn probably shouldn't be a star. Songs about "playing shit local gigs" (Silver) and "f*ck the southerners" (Northern Man) aren't always surefire crowd winners but there's something about his endearing mix of Jim Morrison and fellow Tynesider Jimmy Nail, and this Newcastle band's beautiful noisescape guitar lines, that remind you perhaps where Primal Scream should have gone or where My Bloody Valentine stayed. Passionate about life and injustice; huge grooves; terrace chants; dodgy hair. Best band in the country right now. Probably.

Saw Detroits support Tha Hair @ Duchess just as they got a deal last year, blew me away instantly. saw em again @ Fibbers support Twisted Wheel but the bill should've been reversed cos they'll out do twisted any day of the week! Detroits are without doubt a band that have places to go, can't wait to see em in fab to see how much more they've progressed.

saw these support Sonic Boom (Spectrum, Spacemen3) last feb, Full on Spacemen3, Spiritualized, Spectrum influence, check out 'Hits me like I'm stoned' on their myspace a full on 12 minute epic that blows your nut off, and that's just a demo!!!!......been in contact with the lead singer ever since trying to get them a gig up here.........COME ON TIM YOU LISTENED TO THE DEMO'S YET? TAKE A RISK & BOOK EM!!!!
