Best known for absolute classic Ever Fallen In Love, but The Buzzcocks' songbook is stuffed with some of the best pop tunes of the last thirty years, any of which would pass muster today. But what kind of punk-rock band is this? With songs sometimes weighing in over five minutes, Johnny Rotten would probably have called them hippies but to be one of the UK's most enduring punk bands they abided by conventions only selectively. Self-described "fiction romantic" Shelley, all nasal tenor, is contributor to an endless supply of dazzling two-chord hooks second only to The Beatles. Legends. Still relevant. Advance ticket purchase highly recommended, nay, compulsory!
