Thea Gilmore has never sung about rehab while in treatment or been pictured falling out of nightclubs. Not nearly as famous as Katie, Amy and Lily but then they can't number Bruce Springsteen (see pic below!)and Joan Baez among their fans. There's an obvious gulf - and us ordinary folk are now catching on. With breathtaking imagery which can confront depression or just visit doomed characters, her dream fusion of Lucinda Williams' songwriting and Chrissie Hynde vocals gives her show a messianic feel of dark beauty and intense involvement. Now married, and a mum, 28-yr-old Thea's star is now shining more brightly than ever, having come a long way from that first York show seven years ago supporting Tom McRae, no less. Thoroughly recommended, nay compulsory!
