Henry Priestman is a pop sensation. Following just one appearance on BBC Breakfast, his single 'Don't You Love Me No More', a blackly humorous and perfectly timed lament for the newly unemployed, shot straight to number one on the Amazon chart. Hull-born, he moved to Liverpool, signed to Stiff with Yachts (‘Suffice To Say') and started It's Immaterial ('Driving Away From Home') before co-founding and writing most of the material for The Christians who sold 3 million albums! "Anybody over forty can probably relate to what I'm talking about," says Priestman. "It's been described as Grumpy Old Men set to music, and if that's my genre, so be it." Joined here by Cardiff-based breathy songstress Any Wadge, a ray of light one moment and shot through with sorrow the next with a rangy, tough-but-tender delivery. Think Joni Mitchell or Natalie Merchant. In sneakers.
