Never knowingly accused of taking the path sign-posted "The Easy Way To Success", Alexander King remains an enigma.  Albeit a cynical, single-minded, cussed son-of-a-bitch enigma blessed with equal parts talent and refusal to compromise whether writing a single bar of music or debating life as we know it.  And so to Glass, brightly branded on the ass with "ALEX" and perhaps this seasoned musician's best creation so far.  Dark and almost, whisper it, Gothic but also infused with great tunes and a keyboard player (Andy Curry) almost as perma-happy as Ronald McDonald but with better chops.  Underpinned by a manfully great rhythm section of Jim Stafford and Dan Whiting, here's a band defiantly individual.  And worth your curiosity.  Go on, buy the album as well, although we can't promise there won't be widget in there somewhere that kicks every other CD off your shelf at night.
