Screamo. Hardcore punk or just emo with attitude? The early 90s California version, all intensity and discord - or the emocore of Underoath and Thursday? Whatever your definition, Japan's Fact have picked up the ball and run like hell to the line, scoring heavily in sonic thrash, duelling guitar and all manner of post-hardcore screamo vocals. OK, so they're from the land of the rising sun but so are the best motorbikes, whisky and women (!) ... Counting The Used and Stutterfly amongst their admirers and produced by Michael Elvis Baskette (Incubus, Story Of The Year), here's a band that loves music with an edge, be it old-school thrash metal, contemporary punk or hardcore. Not sayonara but konnichiwa!!
