In today's identikit indie world where half a tune gets you blessed as "Like ... totally awesome, dude" how good to see an act not only with a considerable canon of majestic and heartfelt songs but also fronted by Chris Helme, himself catapulted to national fame ironically with an indie icon (John Squire in Seahorses) but still arguably one of the best vocalists the UK has produced. Effortlessly gliding from Starsailor-ish balladry to The Velvet Underground and the ballsy attitude of Iggy, let's hurrah for an inventive and poetic rock band, rich with passion and tunes, melody and romanticism.  And, yes, it's the last ever Yards show - tonight's your last chance to see this wonderful band.
