Back in the '80s and 90s, the skiffle-tastic Gutter Brothers were a busking phenomenon. When they weren't collecting cash at Covent Garden, they stuffed venues with sweaty, happy, moshing and smiling toe-tappers as well as touring with Jools Holland and Dr Feelgood, providing music for Only Fools And Horses and signing to Elvis Costello's Demon Records. They split in 1993 and founder member Dennis Johnson died in 2002, the band playing a memorial gig in his honour. This, and occasional one-off shows has inspired the band to gig more regularly and we're more than pleased to bring this legendary skiffle-rock band to York!
