In his other job Chris fronts one of the UK's most promising and inventive, poetic rock bands, The Yards, but standing on his lonesome with just a guitar a whole new Mr Helme appears magically before your eyes. Majestic, soulful, commanding and talented are all over-used adjectives these days but whether reinventing Wild Horses or stamping his foot along to an a capella classic, Chris is a truly compelling performer with a voice that not only goes to the back of the room, it also goes to the back of your psyche. And stays there. Dylan, Van Morrison, Buckley ... it's all wrapped up in one of the most eloquent and raucously British rock, roots and blues voices in a couple of decades. And what a great support act, too. A rare local appearance by Hayley Hutchinson and Sam Forrest (Nine Black Alps) who, as The Sorry Kisses, breeze along with the carefree spirit of Crazy Horse and the bittersweet laid-back attitude of The Velvet Underground all wrapped up in The Byrds and The Breeders. A terrific night's entertainment ...  This is a rescheduled date from Saturday July 4 - all tickets are still valid!

Please note you must be 14 or over to gain admittance - read our ID policy.
