A truly inventive and innovative singer and fiddle-player, Mercury Prize nominee (twice!) and BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winner (er ... seven times) Yorkshire-born Eliza, daughter of folk legends Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, has already performed and recorded with the likes of Paul Weller, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Nick Cave and Joan Baez. Modestly describing herself as 'simply a modern British musician' this figurehead of the English folk revival is only just beginning to reach the height of her musical powers. Powerful and exuberant rhythms absorbed from worldwide travels characterise this highly original, self-penned music. Eliza will be performing tracks from her latest album "Dreams Of Breathing Underwater" with a full band. "A fizzing firework display full of colourful contrasts, vivid narratives and big characters" **** Mojo; "A shape-shifter of an album packed with musical and lyrical intrigue" **** Uncut.
